Laura is the Owner and Principal Planner for Byer Planning. Laura received a Master of City Planning degree from the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in Sustainable Transportation and Infrastructure and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). With almost a decade of experience in urban and regional planning, active transportation planning, and GIS services, Laura is well-prepared to help clients achieve their planning goals regardless of local density and context. She has worked on a variety of projects across diverse regions and landscapes:
Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plans at the local, regional, and state levels
Trail Feasibility Studies for local, regional, and statewide trail systems
Strategic State Agency Plans which aim to better include the needs of vulnerable users in all aspects (e.g., planning, design, maintenance, programming, etc.)
Wayfinding, kiosk, and printed map designs
Laura has experience working in multiple states across the United States including New York, California, Vermont, Connecticut, Wyoming, Virginia, West Virginia, Alabama, Maryland, Louisiana, Missouri, and Pennsylvania; most notably, she was the Planner and GIS Manager for a 750-mile long trail system throughout the State of New York
